On December 25, Gabriela Scherer will expand her Mozart repertoire as she makes her role debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. She will perform in three shows at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in August Everding’s legendary production, conducted by Giuseppe Mentuccia and Eva Ollikainen. Additional performances are scheduled for December 29 and January 4, 2025.
This marks Gabriela Scherer’s fourth new role within a year, following her portrayals of Leonore in Fidelio in Lisbon, Chrysothemis in Elektra at the Semperoper Dresden, and another Mozart role, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, which she debuted earlier this year at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
